The National Museum of Singapore is organising a talk and performance on Singapore Malay Music of 1990s by Art Fazil on Saturday 16 May, from 4pm to 5.30pm at the National Museum of Singapore. This talk is held in conjunction with the Singapore HeritageFest exhibition, Ole Ole Temasek – 50 Years of Singapore Malay Pop Music and also as part of A Lighter Side of History series.

In the spirit of SG50, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society (THKMS) is organising the inaugural Harmony Wok 2015, in partnership with Chee Hoon Kog Moral Promotion Society (CHKMPS); Chee Hia Kog Moral Society (CHKMS); Inter-¬‐Religious Organisation (IRO); Yayasan Mendaki (MENDAKI); Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA); Eurasian Association (EA) and Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC).

Participants are encouraged to come dressed in ethnic costumes to soak in the multi-¬‐cultural spirit.

- 2 teams of 3 pax (preferably each team consists of a family)
- Cook 2 HALAL dishes.
- 1 of the dishes must be vegetarian and will be the competing dish.
- Teams to provide recipe but ingredients will be purchased by organising committee. Budget of $50 per team
- 3 prizes (details to be confirmed)

There are 2 main segments to the Harmony Wok 2015, consisting of a Culinary Showcase and a Cooking Challenge.

The Singapore Chinese Orchestra commemorates our nation’s 50th year of independence with a tribute concert in celebration of five decades of nation-building. The evening presents arrangement of Nostalgic Medley and of National Day theme songs, narrated by Lim Kay Tong. This concert is presented by SCO in collaboration with Esplanade.

We would like to invite you and your friends to attend this historical event. As we have limited number of complimentary tickets, it will be on first-come first-serve basis.

In celebration of our nation’s Harmony month in July, the 8 partners, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society (THKMS), Yayasan MENDAKI (MENDAKI); Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA); Eurasian Association (EA); Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC); Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO); Chee Hoon Kog Moral Promotion Society (CHKMPS) and Chee Hia Kog Moral Society (CHKMS) are jointly organising the 12th Inter Racial Inter Religious Harmony Nite 2015 (IRIR 2015).

We are looking for volunteers to assist and be part of the event. You are required to usher guests between Marina Bay MRT station and Marina Bay Sands Grand Ballroom or within Marina Bay Sands.

Date: 12 July 2015, Sunday
Time: 5:30pm - 8:00pm (unless you are joining us for dinner which will end at 10pm)
Venue: Marina Bay Sands Grand Ballroom
Dress code: Malay/Indonesian traditional outfit

Note: You are welcome to join us at the table thereafter. Confirmation required upon signing up so that we can set aside the number of seats.

Briefing/Rehearsal will be conducted on 11 July from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at Marina Bay Sands Grand Ballroom.
